What is Mounts?

Mounts are a much sought after form of transportation in which the player ride atop the backs of numerous more or less exotic beasts. They can be retrieved via the Mounts and Pets window. Paladins, Warlocks, and death knights can learn to summon mounts as a class perk. The Alliance Worgen have a race skill Running Wild which they will get at level 20. Druids can shapeshift into several forms that enhance their speed. Mounted travel is always faster than walking. The Burning Crusade introduced flying mounts in multiple selected areas that increased the possible player movement speed. Generally, mounts were expensive in the past, but their prices have been reduced while the training to ride them increased in order to compensate. However, some mounts do not cost currencies or any gold and will drop at very low rates from bosses in instances such as Stratholme and Zul'Gurub etc.

1. Invincible

Invincible is a mount of Arthas Menethil during his earlier years, serving him until the two were caught in a blizzard that injured the creature and forced Arthas in order to drive his sword through the character heart to end his pain. Once Arthas became the Lich King, he returned and used Frostmourne to raise the horse from his grave to serve him once again. You get one shot each week by killing the Lich King in heroic 25-man Icecrown Citadel.

2. Ashes of Al'ar

This mount holds extreme significance within the WoW community due to its association with Ezra Chatterton a brain cancer patient from California who used to play the game with his beloved father and, through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, was able to fulfill his dream of developing a character for the game. During his visit, he worked with Blizzard Entertainment in order to create a quest before being the first player to obtain the Ashes of Al’ar mount from Jeff Kaplan. Ezra suffered a stroke in August of 2008 and passed away a few months later on, but endures through his quest and the Ashes of Al’ar mounts that you can still obtain by beating Kael’thas Sunstrider in Tempest Keep.

3. Raven Lord

The Raven Lord is a very cool or very stupid mount in the game of WoW. For looks, this WoW mount should get 10 out of 10. Unfortunately, one of the key problems is that the Raven Lord mount is a giant bird and land only mount. Despite its failings, it gets onto the list of the top coolest mounts in World of Warcraft game because of its uniqueness, and it's complicated to obtain. You must have a druid in your party that possesses the Essence-Infused Moonstone. An item the druid would have selected up during their epic flight form quest. This mount is used to summon Anzu, a bird boss in Sethekk Halls, who upon slaying might drop the Reins of the Raven Lord.

4. Felsteed

Felsteeds mount is rare warlock mounts able to be summoned start at level 20. They increase speed by more than 60% (the epic version is the dread steed). Unlike the epic Dreadsteed mount, the felsteed comes with start riding training. When Journeyman Riding skill is later learned, the Felsteed mount will automatically scale to 100% riding speed.

Modeled after the undead faction horse mounts, the Rivendare’s Deathcharger features a unique purple scheme with the heavy wild body that matches its master Baron Rivendare a Death Knight in service to the Lich King. Despite being around since vanilla WoW, this mount is only owned by 19% of game’s players due to its low drop chance. Now you can farm it off of Lord Aurius Rivendare in Stratholme.

7. Felfire Hawk

The Felfire Hawk mount is one of my personal favorite mounts in World of Warcraft video game that is made of hellfire, the hawk is actually deadly to touch, but it selects to suppress its flames in order to keep its rider alive. While it doesn’t have a complicated quest or raid to navigate to obtain, you will have to accumulate up to 250 mounts in order to get all the Mountacular achievements.

8. Kor'Kron Annihilator

Kor'Kron Annihilator is a deadly mount in the game of World of Warcraft that comes with extra power and speed. This mount is obtained by a Horde 15 Horde guild reaching level 25. It can be bought from the Guild Vendor at a price of 1500 gold and you can be exalted with your guild. It is a giant scorpion, which travels at 100% ground speed. This is a Horde-only mount.

9. Feldrake

This mount is introduced during MoP. This flying mount is a rare sight in World of Warcraft, to say the least. It is also part of the War of the Ancients expansion for the WoW Trading Card Game. Unnecessary to say, you’re bound to feel like a badass if you possess this drake. Not only does it look special, but it’s owned by roughly 20% of the player base.

10. Blazing Hippogryph

The Blazing Hyppogryph mount was introduced two years earlier than its corrupted counterpart, during Wrath of the Lich King and it more awesome and coolest than the Corrupted Hyppogryph. Blazing Hippogryph mount comes down to your personal preference. Regarding uniqueness, it is one share common ground with its younger sibling. Once again, around 20% of the player base owns one.
